NASHUA - A resident man will spend 4 to 10 years in prison for 14 burglaries totaling $100,000 in stolen trait, crimes that left homeowners emotionally scarred, particularly one kindred who came home to find their home ransacked and the urn containing their daughter’s ashes crushed.
Richard and Mary Dodge returned to their Broad Street habitation in the summer of 2010 to find it ransacked and the broken urn, according to Assistant County Attorney David Tencza. Among the items stolen were their daughter’s jewelry.
At another burglarized cosy, an urn containing the ashes of a family pet was broken as well, he said.
How the burglaries upset those victims and others, was related to Judge Diane Nicolosi in Hillsborough County Upper-class Court in person and through letters Tuesday at the sentencing of Mario Rojas, 26, of Lawrence, Bulk.
“The victim input statements in this case were so very powerful ,” Tencza said.
