I am not definite what the criteria is for "best bowl." They were all good as far as I am concerned. Here goes:
1.The PapaJohns Bowls was one of the most alluring Rutgers football games I've ever seen. Freeny hustling, tackling Russell Wilson from behind, and sending him outta the trade. A freshman named Joe Martinek coming in and closing the game with some hard-boiled running. A fullback named Jack Corcorhan playing his a$$ off (yet never to be heard from again). Teel at his finest, throwing bombs to Britt. Very, very seductive game.
2. The Texas Bowl. Ru's first bowl win has to rank up there. Rice dominating Quinny Frierson's pick six off of Josh Freeman. Clark Harris having about 50 catches. Tim Brown's coming out fete. Very nice.
3. The Insight Bowl. Ahhh...the one that got away. Don't forget, Arizona Ceremonial had some of the best receivers in college football. Derek Hagan. Zach Miller. With Ryan Neil and Val Barnaby, I figured RU would have gotten more straits on Rudy Carpenter. Tres Moses leaving it all on the field. Very thrilling game. Even though a loss, a plus for RU's program as far as I am concerned.
