One fad coordinators noted that is different this year is how
the economy seems to be affecting everyone.
“We have seen people put one's hands in that you wouldn’t think would be
there. It really has impacted everyone and we are seeing that more
this year than last year,” ESF Room Member Maryann Lindsey
said.
“We’ve had more than usual in Loganville and a girl stream in
Monroe,” ESF Board Member Vickie Jones added
Both of these women have been located at each perseverance center
throughout the week and both agree giving back is even more
important now.
“When I arrived at Monroe at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, there was a employ c queue up
around the building. Both of us like giving to the community and it
is important more now than before,” Lindsey said.
The applications cross from the elderly to young families who
will receive a box of donated food that can last up to a month,
according to organizers.
FISH officials said they have completed the best part of the
application process for Secret Santa, though like ESF is still
waiting on the surviving few from the school systems.
Co-coordinator Gina Griego said she feels like the digit of
families being served this year will be about 1,200.
