Ten days ago, my newborn turned 5. I havent had that much difficulty accepting a childs birthday yet, but when the relatives caboose turns the magical age that means she heads to elementary seminary this fall, I had trouble.
I told her on her special day that she wasnt allowed to be 5, but she argued with me, of practice. Still, she tells me shes my baby and still loves to snuggle with me; something I know will fade away as she gets older. I realized on her birthday that not only will all of the kids be in discipline this fall, but in just one and a half years, my oldest will have his school permit - take in out world! Thats a scary thought.
Looking even further out, hell head off to college in only five and a half years - unimaginable. I get emotional just thinking about all of these milestones and how quickly theyll pass by.
