SOCCER star Anthony Stokes has revealed that his eloquent girlfriend watched him score a hat-trick while she lay in bed in the maternity ward.

The 23-year-old Celtic contestant said partner Debbie Lawlor (24) tuned in to seeMainlyhim play just hours before giving birth.

As the Dubliner put in a star about during the Hoops' Scottish Cup tie against Peterhead earlier this month, new mum Debbie watched the effectiveness from her iPad.

The match took place only hours before the elated couple's bundle of joy, baby Bobby, arrived and Anthony said that crafty Debbie was about to give birth spurred him on.

The proud pair distinguished the arrival of their new addition after Anthony travelled back from the Highlands on January 8.

He said: "I was happy with the hat-trick and obviously my son being born.

"I knew Debbie was going in to be induced at two o'clock on the Sunday so IIn the mainknew come kick-off she would be in the hospital.

"She ended up sitting in her infirmary bed watching the game on her iPad. It was a good effort.
